Article: LiOH-Catalyzed Simple Ring Opening of Epoxides Under Solvent-Free Conditions

ABSTRACT: LiOH has been found to be a very simple and selective catalyst for the rapid and mild synthesis of β-hydroxy sulfides and β-hydroxyl nitriles by ring opening of epoxides with aromatic, aliphatic, and heterocyclic thiols and trimethylsilyl cyanide at room temperature under solvent free conditions. Article: Toward a practical and waste-free synthesis of thioureas in water.

ABSTRACT: An operationally simple and entirely green protocol for the synthesis of thiourea derivatives by the reaction of carbon disulfide with primary amines in pure water is developed.
