Article: Gd-BOPTA-enhanced MR cholangiography findings in gall bladder perforation.
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Gall bladder perforation is a rare condition which is associated with significant mortality and morbidity. Here, we report a case of spontaneous gall bladder perforation following acute calculous cholecystitis with pericholecystic abscess identified on Gd-BOPTA-enhanced MR cholangiography (MRC) prior to laparoscopic surgery. The gall bladder perforation was confirmed via surgery with unremarkable recovery. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of Gd-BOPTA-enhanced MRC for this purpose.Emergency Radiology 11/2010; 17(6):487-91. -
Article: Aneurysm of an anomalous systemic artery supplying the normal basal segments of the left lower lobe: endovascular treatment with the Amplatzer Vascular Plug II and coils.
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: An anomalous systemic artery originating from the descending thoracic aorta supplying the normal basal segments of the lower lobe of the left lung without sequestration is a rare congenital anomaly. The published surgical treatments include lobectomy, segmentectomy, anastomosis, and ligation. In addition, endovascular treatment with coils has been reported. A second-generation occluder, the Amplatzer Vascular Plug II (AVP II), has a central plug and two occlusion disks and a finer, more densely woven nitinol wire, thus enabling faster embolization. This published case is the first successful occlusion of an aneurysm of an anomalous systemic artery with the AVP II and fibered coils, with 10 months of follow-up.CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology 03/2010; 34 Suppl 2:S126-30. · 2.09 Impact Factor
