Conference Proceeding: Soft-single-switched boost PRC using UC3854 and special hysteresis current control technique[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: This paper presents a PWM soft single switching boost parallel resonant converter (SSS-PWM-PRC). Using this converter, with only a single active switch, high power factor and low THD can be obtained in the rectification process. The harmonic distortion and power factor correction are based on a control strategy that forces the input current to follow a reference current. A detailed theoretical study, simulation and experimental tests, are carried out to illustrate the operating principle and to assure the correct operation of this converter.Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2002. pesc 02. 2002 IEEE 33rd Annual; 02/2002

ABSTRACT: This paper presents an improved controller for a single-phase inverter connected to stiff AC system, which is based on frequency and voltage droops (Chandorkar, 1995). A third feedback loop is introduced to increase the system damping, working as the PSS (Power System Stabilizer) in utility system. The small signal analysis and root locus plots are presented in order to show the connections between the feedback loop gains and behavior of the system. Simulation results, which correspond to the numerical solution of the nonlinear system equations, are presented to validate the small signal analysis. A description of a laboratory prototype and the respective experimental results, are also presented to confirm the theoretical analysis.
