ABSTRACT: The RF loading effects on a chest-worn heart-rate telemetry
transmitter were measured; a 6 cm2 printed loop in a 418 MHz
tank circuit was used as the radiator, 1-16 year-old children were used
as test subjects. An individual power absorption of 3.4 dB was found,
based on the numerical integration of polar patterns. Body capacitance
caused tank detuning of between 0.1 and 5.2 MHz, depending on the
physical orientation of the loop
