Conference Proceeding: A Novel Auction-Based Grid Resource Allocation Algrithm
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: In grid computing, auction mechanisms have become a very important method in order to solve distributed scheduling problem. In this paper, we use the average budget formula to express the user preference. Meanwhile, we introduce the risk factor in utility function for improving the transaction successful rate. Our model has improved the resource allocation algorithm convergence by controlling the agent budget and risk. At last, we illustrate that our auction model can get very good resultsPervasive Computing and Applications, 2006 1st International Symposium on; 09/2006 -
Conference Proceeding: Integrating Agent and Web Service into Grid Service Workflow System
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: The dynamical Grid environment requires flexible and adaptive workflow system. This paper integrates Agents and Web Services into Grid Service Workflow System based on Colored Petri Nets. The combination of Agents and Web Services enhances the adaptability and dynamics of the framework. How Web Service can be located dynamically and the services provided by it can be invoked are discussed. Using an example of ordering railway ticket, we show how our framework can achieve adaptability from process, resource and task perspectives using both Agents and Web Services.Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies, 2005. Conference Proceeding: Utility-based Computing Model for Grid
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Within service-oriented Grids, resources may be advertised and traded as services and participants need to have economic incentive. Grid can be seen as a multi-agent system, agent are rational and state their QoS requirements in the form of a utility function which maximize is his goal. In this paper, we propose utility-based computing model for grid. We consider the problem of task scheduling subject to time and budget constrains as joint utility function, and scheduling object is to maximize total attained utility. This scheduling problem can be shown to be NP-hard, thus we present a joint utility function scheduling algorithm (JUFS) for this problem. The performance of model is analyzed by SPNP software package. The numerical results show that JUFS can provide user more utility.Semantics, Knowledge and Grid, 2005. SKG '05.
