Conference Proceeding: A basic architecture for a multistate memory system using nano-antennas
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: This paper describes an architecture to improve the number of memory states from 2 to N states thereby representing more than one bit per state. N different states are achieved by studying the (red, green, blue) vector of the light reflected from N different nano-crystals. The intricacy of focusing light beyond the diffraction limit is overcome by the use of the left handed nano-antennas, whose optical properties are influenced by surface plasmon polariton. The absorption spectra of nano-crystals, are split by using light splitting prism. The individual values of the red, green and blue component of the reflected light is found out by quantization and hence the (R, G, B) vector is found. Using this vector, the respective state and its corresponding bit representation are found out.Nanotechnology, 2004. 4th IEEE Conference on; 09/2004
