  • Conference Proceeding: Computationally efficient antenna selection in MISO-STBC-OFDM
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: In the downlink of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) from the base station to the mobile receiver, in order to reduce the receiver decoding; complexity, capture the benefits of a multiple transmit antenna system while at the same time exploit the diversity gain provided by space-time block coding (STBC), we consider transmit antenna selection in an MISO-STBC-OFDM system. To find the optimal pair of antennas in an MISO-STBC-OFDM system, a computational-intensive exhaustive search is usually required. In this paper, we propose an antenna selection method with reduced complexity, based on the norm of the channel impulse responses in the time domain. This proposed antenna selection method exhibits near-optimal bit-rate, bit-error rate (BER) and outage probability performances as substantiated by numerical simulations.
