ABSTRACT: Recently, the utilization of the natural energy, such as the solar or wind energy utilization, has been a great wish of the human. Further more, the necessity of the development of the natural energy become more increased due to the limited fossil fuel and the environmental problems. In this paper, we describe about a wind power generation system using a wound rotor induction generator. Especially, we deal with the control about suppression of inrush current or active power and reactive power.

ABSTRACT: In this paper, we present about a wind power generation system using a wound rotor induction generator. Then, we deal with the control about active power and reactive power. The performance of a wound rotor induction generator controlled by a voltage phasor at the rotor side is investigated. The control system has been developed and several results of simulation show the effectiveness of the proposed wind system.

ABSTRACT: This paper describes the calculated and measured waveforms of shaft voltage and bearing currents of the brushless DC motor driven by PWM inverter. At first, we discussed the current path of the bearing current when unloaded side bearing is conducting and load side bearing is not conducting. Next, we derive a common mode equivalent circuit, and calculate the shaft voltage and bearing current. Finally, to confirm the validity of the derived circuit, calculated waveforms are compared with measured waveforms.

ABSTRACT: This paper considers about the method of superimposing the voltage vectors to a standard PWM pattern, the principle which estimate the rotor speed from the variation of slot leakage inductance included in stator current is described. Neither the rogowski coil nor the high frequency signal injection are needed, and it has an advantage that the variation of leakage inductance is caught by an easy correction of the standard PWM pattern. In this paper, experimental results are presented that the variation of leakage inductance caused by rotor slots.

ABSTRACT: Recently, the utilization of the natural energy, such as the solar or wind energy utilization has been a perpetual with of the human for a long time. Further more, the necessity of the development of the natural energy become more increased due to the limited fossil fuel and the environmental problems. In this paper, we describe about a wind power generation system using a wound rotor induction generator. Then, we deal with the control about active power and reactive power. Moreover, the developed method is applied to control active and reactive power, and to suppress the influence of the tower shadow effects.

ABSTRACT: Three-Phase Squirrel Cage Induction Motor is widely used in Industry. In case of induction motor, leakage inductance is important for deciding characteristic of machine. Therefore, if leakage inductance is able to calculate accurately, calculated characteristic and actual characteristic become approximation. As calculation method of leakage inductance, sum of primary and secondary leakage inductance are able to calculate from measurement. However, it is difficult to separate. Leakage inductance can be calculated from calculation formula. And there is the method that calculates it from finite element method (FEM). In addition, Induced voltage of a Rotor is important to calculate leakage inductance. Result is compared with the value that calculated from calculation formula and experiment. The calculated results by FEM agreed well with the experimental values than the conventional calculation results and the effectiveness of the calculation method by FEM was confirmed.

ABSTRACT: Speed sensorless vector controlled induction motor drives are the standard choice in many industrial applications, but this can hardly control torque and rotor speed at low speed. Recently, a method based on the high-frequency signal injection has been studied. This paper presents a method for suppressing the effects of the saturation saliency by using high pass filter, and a new approach to estimate the rotor speed. The effectiveness of these methods are demonstrated through experimental results showing good sensorless speed control at low speed.

ABSTRACT: A pulse motor is generally used for a small capacity drive sy : stem. The paper describes the proper motor structure and drive circuit for a large capacity pulse motor. The structure of armature winding is improved for the purpose of decreasing copper loss. The new drive circuit using a current controlled PWM inverter is proposed. There are four power transistors in the inverter, and four phase armature windings are connected in series with the power transistors respectively. The voltage and current waveforms and the steady atate characteristics of the pull-out torques etc. are obtained from analysis on the heteropolar type pulse motor. The advantages of this system are confirmed by the calculations and experimental results.

ABSTRACT: The three level inverter's output voltage may contain less harmonics than that of conventional full-bridge inverters and since the imposed voltages across the main switching devices are a half of the dc source voltage, it is particularly attractive in high power applications. We have discussed the application of the three level inverter to permanent magnet ac servo motor drives. In this paper, we have investigated the output waveforms of the three level and the two level inverter at steady state. We have also presented experimental results. The results prove low current distortion of the three level inverter. Transient re-sponses have also been considered.
