ABSTRACT: A novel fuzzy-observer-design approach is presented for Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models with unknown output disturbances. In order to decouple the unknown output disturbance, an augmented fuzzy descriptor model is constructed by supposing the disturbance to be an auxiliary state vector. A fuzzy state-space observer is next designed for the augmented fuzzy descriptor system, and the simultaneous estimates of the original state and disturbance are thus obtained. The proposed observer technique is further applied to estimate sensor faults. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the design procedure, and the simulation results show the desired tracking performance. The pre knowledge of the disturbance and fault is not necessary for our design. Moreover, the considered disturbance and sensor fault can be in any form.

ABSTRACT: In this paper, a stochastic observer is proposed, which can make the estimation error dynamics to be stochastically asymptotical stable and impulse-free. Moreover, an integrated estimation and feedback control mechanism is presented, which can make both the state and error dynamics stochastically asymptotical stable and impulse-free. Simulated results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach. Finally, this technique is extended to fuzzy stochastic systems.

ABSTRACT: In this paper, we focus all attention on finding a solution to the problem how to reduce the difficulty of TS fuzzy system controller design. In other words, our goal is to obtain fewer inequalities in LMIs which is one of the most important tools for fuzzy system controller design. By constructing an augment system, the problem of controller design is turned into stability problem of a fuzzy descriptor system. Then, a set of LMIs which number is smaller than that needed in other methods is given for TS fuzzy system controller design. The complexity of controller design is decreased and the feasibility is increased. Further, based on the result of controller design, observer design is discussed and the fewer LMIs for observer design is given. Finally, a simulation example is presented to illustrate the proposed result.
