    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Security issues of text watermarking are greatly different from those of other multimedia watermarking, in terms of its specific requirements and characteristics of text watermarking. The security theory of text watermarking is proposed in this paper, and the following security topics are discussed: (i) the classification and application of text watermarking; (ii) the classification and analysis of attacks; (iii) the watermarking model and security countermeasures. Other open issues and further challenges related to text watermarking are also addressed.

  • Conference Proceeding: Performance Analysis and Evaluation of Text Watermarking
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: A most effective way to discourage illicit reproduction of copyrighted documents or verify authenticated documents is to watermark each copy before distribution. Text watermarking technique is widely believed to be such a valid means. In order to provide the convenience of future research in the field of text watermarking, the performance analysis and evaluation of text watermarking is proposed in this paper. The following topics are mainly discussed: i) the watermarking mathematical model; ii) analyses on watermarking imperceptibility, capacity and reliability; iii) evaluations on robustness and security. The research on these issues will promote algorithmic improvements and optimize various properties of text watermarking.

  • Conference Proceeding: A novel gray scale watermarking algorithm in wavelet domain
Shumei Wang, Weidong Zhao, Zhicheng Wang
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: This paper presents a robust better gray image watermarking algorithm based on the distance in the wavelet transform domain. Firstly, two images will be pretreated: the vector image is transformed into discrete wavelet domain, the level of transform is decided by the size of the watermark image, another pretreatment is that watermark image is scrambled by Arnold transform; Secondly, the edge information which is a binary image is extracted from horizontal and vertical details, and compute the their distance transform matrix which are gray-scale images. After that, the scrambled watermark will be embedded in distance transform matrix using the rule of addition, what is more, the strength parameter of embedding is adaptive, and compute their complements; Finally, The last step is the reconstruction of the watermarked image using inverse discrete wavelet transform according to secret key. The experimental results show that this algorithm has good anti-offensive and security. it has the characteristics of the frequency and spatial, and changes the attitude that the detail coefficients have poor robustness. Distance transform can expand energy of image, so, if the watermark is embedded here, the robustness and invisibility are gained at the same time.

  • Conference Proceeding: A Robust Digital Watermarking of Chinese Texts Based on Watermarking Structure and Embedding Strategy
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: A novel robust text watermarking algorithm based on watermarking structure and embedding Strategy is proposed to solve the problem of copyright protection in this paper. This method obtains structure types and strokes of Chinese characters based on the thought of the mathematical expression of a Chinese character, and then the whole document is divided into two blocks by utilizing structure types of Chinese characters. In each block, the position chosen as a candidate of embedding is determined by not only the watermarking bit but also the Chinese character's strokes. Embedding is implemented through setting underlines to Chinese characters and hiding them. Watermarking can be extracted without original document and primitive watermarking information. When the watermarking bit is destroyed, its position can be recorded, and it can be recovered by block-checkout and hamming-checkout. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm is more robust and transparent than the counterpart methods.

  • Conference Proceeding: A Blind and Self-Adaptive Digital Watermarking Based on Wavelet-Packet Decomposition
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: In this paper, a novel blind digital watermarking algorithm using wavelet-packet decomposition is proposed. Firstly, the original image is transformed into frequency domain with wavelet-packet decomposition by using a key that decides which direction will be further transformed, so that the sub bands where watermark is embedded are determined. Secondly, the binary watermark image with copyright information is scrambled with a pseudo-random sequence generated by another key. According to the sub bandspsila own characteristics, three thresholds are calculated, then the watermark is embedded to the selected sub bands coefficients by using different scale thresholds depending on the level decomposition. In addition, in the watermark image extraction process, the original image is not needed. The locations where watermark information are embedded are found by using one key; and three thresholds are generated, then the watermark information are withdrawn. Finally, the watermarking image is reconstructed by using another key. The experimentspsila results have shown that the image embedded watermark is invisible to human eyes and very robust to various attacks.

    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: There are many human-computer interactions in CAD software. Many commands have to be completed with many steps and the users have to remember lots of commands and parameters. It designs the system frame based on MVC pattern and command pattern for single step interaction software. After the users select entities or snap points, the commands matching the selection will be judged. The users' behaviors are predicted based on the previous pattern. And the behaviors history is saved and reloaded for undo/redo and operations playback.

  • Article: Attack Model of Text Watermarking Based on Communications
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: As a valid means to discourage illicit distribution of information content, digital watermarking is a form of communication in essence. Inspired by the thoughts of watermarking communication model, an attack model of text watermarking based on communications is proposed in this paper. According to this attack model, in which the attackers’ abilities are considered, the known attacks under the three given conditions are analyzed. The research on these issues will promote the improvement on watermarking algorithms and fuel the development of text watermarking.

  • Article: A semi-fragile watermarking scheme for content authentication of chinese text documents
Xinmin Zhou, Sichun Wang, Weidong Zhao, Rui Peng
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: At present, the research on content authentication of text documents has become the focused problem. In this paper, a novel semi-fragile text watermarking scheme is proposed for content authentication of Chinese text documents. In this method, the host document is divided into two text blocks by utilizing the thought of Chinese mathematical expression. Two watermarks generated by using the chaotic encrypting algorithm to encrypt the hashing value of the text document with two different keys respectively, are embedded into the two text blocks. These two different keys are generated by computing the frequency and stroke numbers of Chinese characters of two different text blocks. When the content of the watermarked text document is modified, the extracted results of two text blocks will not match, and the authentication result of the text document will be false. The experimental results indicate that the proposed scheme is secure and efficient.
