ABSTRACT: Compact wideband slot loop antenna fed by microstrip line is presented. In the proposed antenna, the microstrip feed line is connected to the center conductor of the slot loop by the conducting via. The operating bandwidth of the proposed antenna is more than octave band (2.48 to 5.7 GHz) for a VSWR<;2. And the radiation pattern of the antenna is omnidirectional and similar to the (half wavelength) dipole antenna over the whole operating frequency band.

ABSTRACT: A meander slot antenna with two open-ends is newly proposed. The main difference between the proposed meander slot antenna and the previous one is the introduction of the open-end to miniaturize the previous meander slot antenna. In order to check the validity of the proposed antenna, the resonant properties and radiation patterns have been simulated and measured. Good agreements between them have been observed.

ABSTRACT: Based upon three-level approximation and the steepest descent path (SDP) method, we consider a robust approach for the derivation of a new class of closed-form Green's functions for microstrip structures. Some numerical results are presented for the validation of the present method. It is observed that this method can provide a more accurate evaluation of the spatial Green's functions than the previous method, even without the advance investigation of the spectral functions, over a wide frequency range. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
