ABSTRACT: In the last years, a lot of optic fiber sensors have been developed for structural health monitoring systems. There are several physical, chemical and environmental factors that contribute to concrete structures deterioration. There is a need to monitor all these factors to explain the produced damages after extended periods. In this paper we present the results from the development of a multi-point and multi- parametric sensor for measure the four main factors that can indicate a possible deterioration problem: strain, temperature, humidity and pH. The sensor proposed here is based on Fiber Bragg Gratings and humidity and pH sensitive hydrogels.
