ABSTRACT: The title compound 3 was obtained during the rearrangement of isoxazol-5-yl hydrazine 1 to 1-aminopyrazolone 2 at 115°. X-ray analysis of the corresponding benzylidene derivative allowed us to achieve the structure assignment.

ABSTRACT: Ring opening with molybdenum hexacarbonyl of functionalized isoxazoles is a valuable synthetic process. Tetrazolopyridine 4 and pyrazolopyridine 9 were obtained from isoxazolopyridines 3 and 6, respectively, whereas the isoxazole 14 gave ketone 16 through the intermediate 17.

ABSTRACT: Whereas irradiation of 4,5-dithiophen-2-yl[1,3]dithiol-2-one leads to the expected 2,3,5,6-tetrathiophen-2-yl-1,4-dithiine product, similar reaction of thiophen-3-yl-substituted [1,3]dithiol-2-ones leads to thieno[3,4-c]dithiines via a unique ring cleavage reaction.
