  • Conference Proceeding: ISCF: A Semantic Web Service Composition Framework Based on OAA
Lei Deng, Jian Wu, Zhengguo Hu
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Through providing an execution environment for semantic web services, SWSF (Semantic Web Service Framework) can facilitate automatic web service delivery, discovery, selection, invoking, composition and interoperation. However, each of those ongoing approaches does not satisfy all basic requirements of SWSF, e.g. OWL-S (Ontology Language of Web Service) does not offer the mechanism for automatic web service tasks' execution and WSMO can not describe the composition of web services in a structural way yet. So, in order to provide a fully- fledged SWSF, we present the ISCF (Integrated Service Composition Framework) which is based on the OAA (Open Agent Architecture ). We describe the technical characters and design objectives of ISCF from global and detailed view. Comparing with other SWSFs, ISCF has more extensible and autonomous distributed architecture, and has more complete and effective web service automatization. In addition, ISCF provide some useful tools to help users design semantic web services and manage ISCF system.

  • Conference Proceeding: Trust-Contexts Modeling, Organization and Trust Estimation on the Web
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Trust-contexts, computational models of the situational factors of trust behaviors, play important roles in trust decisions, but their researches are still in infancy. In this paper, based on earlier studies, trust- contexts are modeled and organized globally on the Web. Then, the basic ideas and an extension of trust estimation, which is the core step of trust decision, are focused. At last, more extensional topics are presented.

  • Conference Proceeding: Epistemic Semantics Based Bayes Rules for Fuzzy Description Logics in Semantic Web
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Regarding the imperfect nature of knowledge in Semantic Web, uncertainty and vagueness seem different, but are desired to be merged. In this paper, concerning this merging problem, we introduce Bayes rules into Fuzzy Description Logics to model complex, even uncertain relationships between fuzzy concepts. Then, an extended epistemic semantics is approached to give Bayes rules well-defined meanings. At last, regarding the reasoning issues, the basic ideas of Bayes rule based knowledge query are talked.

  • Conference Proceeding: A contract-based component model for embedded systems
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Component-based software development is becoming mainstream for conventional applications. However, components can be difficult to deploy in embedded systems because of QoS (nonfunctional) requirements. This work presents an approach to building software for embedded systems, based on the use of component in combination with contracts. The contracts specify both the functional properties and QoS properties of the different components in the system. This is especially important in embedded systems, since they are resource constrained. We propose a component model for embedded systems, which is based on four level contracts. And we formalize the first three level contracts by using pi calculus and its type system, allowing us to specify composition and to reason about the compatibility and substitutability of the components.

  • Conference Proceeding: A grid-distance based scheduling for grid resource management
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: In grid resource management, the scheduling strategy based on selecting resources that are near and owns more bandwidth available has better characteristics. The notion of grid-distance is proposed in this paper, which can be used as the criteria for grid selection taking physical distance, bandwidth available and cost into consideration. A grid resource model and a correlative application model are also presented. Based on this model, the computation of grid distance and the corresponding resource selection algorithm are described. The simulation experiment validates the improvement of the communication cost, stability; job completion time, failure rate of job execution in scheduling and the throughput of the resource exchange
