    ABSTRACT: This paper presents a new method to optimize the fuzzy control system for ship course-changing and course-keeping. In fuzzy control system, fuzzy rules optimization is a crucial step in the development of a fuzzy model. This work studies a new approach for fuzzy rule base optimization by means of extension method. The optimization solution especially solves the non-compatible problem in the generation process of fuzzy control rules. For the design study, the optimization model has been carried out in the MATILAB/Simulink environment. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

    ABSTRACT: Granular computing is an emerging conceptual and computing paradigm of information processing. Just as a great umbrella, it may be regarded as a label of theories, methodologies, techniques, and tools that make use of information granules. Extension set theory is a new computational method of knowledge resolution and the significance of attribute. Extension method can be used to describe the thinking process associated with both quantitative change and qualitative change. In this paper, we integrate granular computing with extension method. We utilize the extension method to solve some problems for communicating between information granular worlds. The communication procedures between information granular worlds based on extension method can be established, which is valuable and easy to implement in computer.

  • Conference Proceeding: Using Extension Method to Solve the Incompatible Problem of Fuzzy Control Rule

    ABSTRACT: The paper proposed a new method to solve the non-compatible problem in the generation process of fuzzy control rules, which is a common problem in practice. Extension method is a new kind of knowledge system based on the concepts of extension set and matter-element transformation, which the major goal of this methodology is to solve the incompatible problems through studying the extension probability of things and the laws and methods of extension and innovation. We adopt a fusion method of extension sets and fuzzy sets to solve the non-compatible problem in the generation process of fuzzy control rules. To solve contradiction problem by computers, we quantify the process of solving contradiction problems and use extension methodology as a tool corresponding to such quantification. The extension model of fuzzy rule was established for implementation by computer. The method of the optimizing fuzzy control rules based on the compatibility of fuzzy rules is capable of improving the performance of the fuzzy control greatly. It is valuable and easy to implement in computer.

  • Conference Proceeding: The Application of KL Transform to Remove Direct Wave in Ground Penetrating Radar Records

    ABSTRACT: In ground penetrating radar (GPR) records, because of different kinds of noises, especially direct wave of ground surface, the real target is not seen clearly in the radar echo section, which makes the detection of real targets difficult. Considering that the direct waves among traces are not change greatly and have strong correlation, so it can be restrained by certain methods. KL transform often be used to pick up coherent noises and random noises in multi channel seismic records[U 4]. In this paper, KL transform is used to GPR data processing, which fully uses the different second-order statistic characteristics of their correlations on the direct wave, target signals in multi channel GPR data. The target signals are successfully separated form noises according to the corresponding relation of the eigenvalue's magnitude of the correlation matrix and correlation strength of each component in the multi channel GPR data.

    ABSTRACT: Extension detecting is a new technology for the measurement problem. It is proposed in order to solve the problem that cannot be detected. The related matter-elements are the very important elements that are the detectable matter-elements in the processing of extension detecting. The way to choice the key related matter-elements are also given in this paper, the key related matter-elements is the basic of extension detecting. It must use the key related matter-element to detect the undetectable physical quantity. This paper provides the basic principle of extension detecting and presents corresponding implement methods for the related matter-element processing.

    ABSTRACT: This paper studies the more efficient and easier design of the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for course-changing and course-keeping. In this paper, we present the new method to tune the rule base in fuzzy control system. According to the change status of system error, the real-time tuning algorithm is proposed to tune the consequent part fuzzy values, hence the rule base is regulated. This paper also compares the superior performance of FLC at various operating conditions with conventional PID controller. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the method is valuable and easy to implement.

  • Conference Proceeding: Fuzzy neural PID controller and tuning its weight factors using genetic algorithm based on different location crossover

    ABSTRACT: The new method using genetic algorithm to modify the weight factors of PID neural network (PIDNN) in fuzzy neural PID controller is presented in this paper. The genetic algorithm uses the new crossover operator, this is the different location crossover, to carry) out the evolutionary operating. The principle of different crossover operators is described and the neural fuzzy PID controller used to the processing control system. The result of running shows that the fuzzy neural PID controller optimized by genetic algorithm has the better and satisfactory behavior for real time industrial control processing.

  • Conference Proceeding: A pruning technique of feasible matrixes of JPDA algorithm

    ABSTRACT: The cause of the computation complexity of the joint probability data association (JPDA) algorithm is that the validation matrix is decomposed to lots of feasibility matrices, and so the number of feasibility matrices increases exponentially with the complexity of the validation matrix. So we think that the speed of the JPDA can be improved by decreasing the complexity of validation matrix with improving the performance of the tracking gate.     ABSTRACT: This paper presents a knowledge-based system for Chinese natural language processing (NLP). The information in the knowledge base consists of static and dynamic knowledge. The process supported by the system involves morphology, syntax and semantic operation. The model is applied to analyze Chinese phonetic alphabet (CPA) sentences and converts them to the corresponding Chinese character sentences
