ABSTRACT In this paper we present studies into the scope and limitations of asymmetric PTC epoxidation of enones and the oxidation-epoxidation of allylic alcohols using aqueous NaOCl in conjunction with a dihydrocinchonidine derived quaternary ammonium salt catalyst.
