ABSTRACT Central venous catheterization is associated with a wide spectrum of vascular complications, including inadvertent arterial puncture. We describe 2 cases of successful open surgical repair of iatrogenic cervicothoracic arterial injuries secondary to central venous catheterization. In both patients, a novel transmanubrial approach was incorporated to expose and control the brachiocephalic artery.
