UJI POTENSI PRODUKSI JENIS JAMUR TIRAM PADA BERBAGAI MEDIA SERBUK GERGAJI KAYU

ABSTRACT This research has purposed to study/know the origin effects of three kinds of woods sawdust on growth and products of three kinds of fungus: white, red, and grey oyster fungus. Hypotheses: it is assumed that origin interaction between kind of woods and white (Pleurotus ostreatus), red (Pleurotus flabellatus), and grey (Pleurotus saforcaju) oyster fungus’ growth and products is occurred; it is assumed that the different kind of woods will affect white (Pleurotus ostreatus), red (Pleurotus flabellatus), and grey (Pleurotus saforcaju) oyster fungus’ growth and product; and it is assumed that kind of fungus affects white (Pleurotus ostreatus), red (Pleurotus flabellatus), and grey (Pleurotus saforcaju) oyster fungus’ growth and products. This fungus will be taken place in fungus house (production unit) of Biotechnological Development Center and Chemical Laboratory of Muhammadiyah University of Malang, start from April – July 2008. Instruments used in this research are: sterilization room, 189 plastic bags with 18 x 35 cm in size and 0.03 mm in thickness, oilpaper, cooker, pipering, thermometer, inoculation spoon, hand sprayer, and sieve (dryer) with 3 mm x 3 mm holes. Materials used are: coconut wood, teak wood, and sengon sawdusts, bran, corn flour, 70% alcohol, TSP fertilizer, and seeds of white, red, and grey oyster fungus, and seed of oyster fungus. This research is held using complete random design that is arranged in factorial with 3 repetitions. The first factor is kind of wood powder (3) comprising 3 kinds: K1 = teak wood (Tictona grandis) sawdust, K2 = coconut wood (Cocos nucifera L.) sawdust and K3 = Sengon wood (Albizia falcotoria L.) sawdust. While the second factor is kind of oyster fungus (T) comprising 3 kinds: T1 = white oyster fungus (Pleurotus ostreatus), T2 = red oyster fungus (Pleurotus flabellatus), and T3 = grey (Pleurotus saforcaju) oyster fungus. The observation parameter is the period when the mycelium appear (day), period when fruit body raise (day), total amount of fungus fruit body, diameter of fruit body (cm), total wet weight of fungus (gram), total dry weight of fungus (gram), and biological efficiency (percent). Based on the research result, it can be concluded that there is significant interaction effect between wood sawdust treatment and oyster fungus kind on total fresh weight of fungus, dry weight of oyster fungus, and biological efficiency. Combination of Sengon wood and white oyster fungus is the best treatment combination than the other one. Single factor treatment of wood powder kind has significant effect on the appearance of mycelium, the rise of fruit body, and fruit body diameter. The good sawdust is sengon wood kind. Single factor treatment of oyster fungus kinds has significant effect on the appearance of mycelium, the rise of fruit body, and fruit body diameter. White oyster fungus is better than the red and grey one.
