FAKTOR - FAKTOR PENYEBAB MOTIVASI BELAJAR RENDAH (Studi Kasus Pada Siswa Kelas I SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Malang)
Motivation is an effort to encourage children (students) to be developed into a more positive direction. Motivation is the conditions or circumstances that activate or give impetus to the creature to behave in achieving goals posed by these motivations. Motivation and effort to learn students will be stimulated by (a) The existence of attention (attention) to each student teacher, (b) Keatraktifan learning activities, (c) active involvement of students, (d) Learning satisfy curiosity and urge for self-actualization, (e ) The existence of reinforcement (reinforcement) of positive behavior and punishment of educative to negative behavior. (Word, 1999) Factors that encourage someone to learn include: (a) The nature curious and want to explore the wider world, (b) The existence of a creative nature that exist in humans and the desire is always forward, (c) There is a desire to get sympathy from parents , teachers and friends, (d) There is a desire to correct past failures with a new business, either by cooperation or competition, (e) There is a desire to get a sense of security when mengusai lessons; (f) The existence of instruction or punishment as end rather than learning. Based on the observations while the researcher, declining quality of education at SMA 3 Malang Muhammadiyah one of them due to low motivation possessed by the student. Indicators of low student motivation can be seen from the subjects below the average value. In this lesson showed no enthusiasm to follow even impress an important entry and exit during the hours lesson. Pupils feel tired and bored with the learning process they experience every day so they choose to chat with classmates in the cafeteria or outside the classroom. This condition is exacerbated by low levels of discipline of students who often arrive late to school or go home before the school day is finished. From the observations made by researchers, there are 3 students who show the above behavior, so the writer conduct the research in SMA 3 Malang Muhammadiyah to know more detail the causes of low motivation to learn them. The research method used is descriptive research method. This type of research used in this research is a case study. Data collection techniques that made the observations and interviews or interviews. Based on data description and discussion, it can be concluded the low motivation of students in grade 1 SMU 3 Malang Muhammadiyah caused by internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include the willingness or desire of the students themselves, their attitude towards learning and teachers as well as their views about learning in school is boring stuff. External factors consist of family and school environment. Students who have low motivation in learning mostly from economic pas-pas, so they rarely pay attention to the development of their child's school. School environment, especially in classes that are always crowded and there was no interaction between students and teachers so that the problems faced by students can not be detected early. To overcome the low motivation to learn in grade 1 SMA 3 Malang Muhammadiyah can be suggested First; Need for intensive and personal approach to students so that they feel the attention of the school. Second: The need for dialogue with parents of students in order to know the development of students and teachers know their activities at home or outside the home.
