Link Characterization for Optical Single Sideband Modulation with Linearization Technique Incorporating RF Nonlinearity

We analyze and quantify the impact of RF nonlinearity in an optical link incorporating optical single sideband with carrier (OSSB+C) modulation for fiber-radio applications using our proposed linearization technique. The investigations are carried out analytically and generalized for a multi-carrier environment. The results indicate that the proposed linearization scheme is more tolerant to optical nonlinearity and eventually limited by RF front-end nonlinearity.
