Al-Baidawi's tafsir Anwar al-Tanzil wa asrar al-Ta'wil (The Secrets of Revelation and The Secrets of Interpretation) is the most important for the development of Islam. This mentionable classic Sunni tafsir is considered a hortened version of 'Al-Kashshaf'. Drawing upon the works of Al-Zamakhshari and al-Razi, al-Baydawi carefully altered Mu'tazilite references in an acceptable language. This research study examines the features of this influential commentary of the Quran in a view to find out the reason of recommending it as a primary source of Sunni Tafsir for scholars of Qur'anic and Islamic studies. The study of this paper presents al-Baidawi's short life sketch along with his methodology and efficiency in tafsir.

This article is an earnest attempt to explore the phenomenon of true dreams from Islamic epystimological approach demonstrating the validity of Islam’s spiritual interpretation of reality, of the universe and of human nature. The real definition of dream, the meaningful Quranic references of dreams and the related tradions that express the intellectual divine significance of dreams are also reffered in this article. This reseach study is intended to examine the authentic sufistical implication of dreams in Islamic epystimology.

The main purpose of this study is to explore the etiquettes of disagreement (ādāb al-Ikhtilāf) in Islam in the perspective of comparative Fiqh (Fiqhul Muqāran). The etiquettes may be a strategic way of increasing mutual respect and passion among the different schools of Fiqh. This article shows how the Muslim scholars engaged in scholarly debate and maintained mutual respect and unity in early periods of Islam. It also explores the etiquettes of disagreement which are to be followed to maintain the unity of Muslim community within juristic differences. This is a descriptive study of Islamic Jurisprudential history. It analyses various etiquettes of disagreement guided by the holy Quran and Sunnah and practiced by the prophet’s companions. Intellectual disagreement and diversity of thought are greatly appreciated in Islam. This study sum up in to an opinion that the diverse interpretations made by classical Muslim scholars were based on their deep understanding of the texts of the holy Quran and Sunnah. They adhered to the etiquettes of Islam when they differed and expressed their views. This scholarly opinion certainly would shape the mind of Muslim reseachers and scholars to maintain etiquettes of disagreement while responding to contemporary issues. Furthermore, it would contribute to mitigating the existing conflicts and divisions among the followers of various schools of Fiqh.

Some governments claimed that certain CEDAW provisions cannot be executed in their countries due to it’s infringements with Islam and Muslim laws. For ... [Show full abstract] instance, they may claim that CEDAW is incompatible with Shari'ah and those laws or practices cannot be changed because they are divine. But Islam cannot be used to justify discrimination against women. CEDAW marked a milestone in the path of women’s rights. As much discrimination as exists between men and women in today's society, CEDAW has given guidelines for its elimination in almost all cases. This article is intended to submit that full implementation of CEDAW is possible in Muslim contexts, as core principles and values of Islam. Islam has introduced principles to establish women’s rights in the Quran and Hadith. The current article has been completed following explanatory research method and a comparative analysis was also presented with a view to investigate similarities and dissimilarities between CEDAW and Islamic guidance on women rights at large.

Adopting the principle of grading the “ ayat “ according to their chronological order of discension and the context of time and place surrounding it. 3. Considering the original linguistic sign in its various sensory and metaphorical uses them scrutinizing all the formulas of utterance in the Holy Quran with reference to their specific context of occurrence in the aya and Sura , as well as the overall context of the Holy Book. 4. In order to understand the secrets of expression one should resort to the context of the text and the different interpretors opinion choosing the most suitable approach. Al-Kouthar Sura has been chosen in view its shortness which can provide the best chance applying the approach adopted in this study.
