Out west: a poem on paste
Journal Article: DOI: PS3552 L49 O97 1988
Abstract
COLOPHON: "Thirty copies of OUT WEST were designed, hand set, printed by letterpress, decorated, and hand bound by Carol J. Blinn at Warwick Press during the summer of 1988. The typeface is Monotype Cochin Light and the paper is Mohawk Superfine Cover. The non-adhesive paper binding with tapes uses DeWint, a handmade English sheet. Each paste paper sheet was individually done as were the touches of color on the title page. The traycases, made by bookbinders Claudia Cohen and Cara Moser, are covered in linen and Japanese Sugi Veneer. All books are accompanied by a collection of sheets showing the manuscript in progress. This is copy 18/30." Signed by the artist. From the Prospectus: "Warwick press announces the publication of a poem about a western landscape which is printed directly onto a landscape done in paste paper. The author also includes a note about her childhood wanderings and her love of open spaces."
