Valor nutricional del heno de transvala inoculado con el hongo Pleurotus ostreatus sp

Se analizó el valor nutricional del heno de Transvala utilizado en la producción del hongo comestible Pleurotus ostreatus. El heno fue analizado antes de inocular el hongo y después de la cosecha. Se determinó: materia seca (MS), proteína cruda (PC), extracto etéreo (EE), ceniza (Ce), digestibilidad in vitro de la MS (DIVMS), carbohidratos no fibrosos (CNF), fibra detergente neutro (FDN), fibra detergente ácido (FDA), lignina, nitrógeno ligado a la fibra detergente neutro (N-FDN) y a la fibra detergente ácida (N-FDA), nutrimentos digestibles totales (NDT) (1X), energía digestible (ED), energía metabolizable (EM), energía neta de lactancia (ENl), energía de mantenimiento (ENm) y energía neta de ganancia (ENg). Sobresalen niveles bajos de PC, DIVMS y NDT; y valores altos de lignina, FDN y FDA. El contenido de MS, FDN, hemicelulosa (He), lignina, CNF y EE presentó diferencias significativas, debidas al crecimiento del hongo. La variación en calidad en estas variables fue de (-) 48,75%, (-) 24,76%, (-) 80,22%, (-) 27,94%, (+) 51,52% y (-) 26,13%, respectivamente. La mejoría en la calidad nutricional del heno, después de la cosecha del hongo, no es tan significativa como para cambiar la perspectiva en su uso dentro de la ración total de rumiantes, por lo que el beneficio del heno se basa más en aspectos físicos que nutricionales.

    ABSTRACT: Ryegrass seeding may be limited by the lack of farming machinery. The aim of this study was to evaluate the establishment of three ryegrass (Lolium sp.) genotypes (annual diploid, annual tetraploid, and hybrid tetraploid) in kikuyu grass pastures (Pennisetum clandestinum) with seeding based on zero tillage. The first agronomic evaluation of ryegrass was conducted 60 days after seeding and then every 35 days until the fourth grazing. For data analysis we used a linear mixed model with grass genotype, topography, and number of cuts as fixed effects. The random effect was the farm. Biomass and establishment percentage were better in the high area (flat terrain) for the three genotypes (p<0.05). Biomass of annual diploid ryegrass was higher in the high and slope area (p<0.05). The leaf/stem ratio, height, length, and width of the last and fully elongated leaf were statistically significant (p<0.05) between the different cuts for all genotypes, showing that grass growth increases with the number of cuts when rational grazing management is provided. The results of this study support the conclusion that greater adaptation of diploid ryegrass associated with Kikuyu grass positively impacts biomass production under zero tillage.

    ABSTRACT: Each year, agriculture generates large amounts of lignocellulosic waste of low nutritional quality. This quality could be improved by the use of basidiomycetes. The aim of this study was to characterize the bedding residue from commercial cultivation of Agaricus bisporus as a feed for ruminants. Nutrient analyzes and mycotoxins content were performed. In situ degradation kinetics and in vitro gas production were also determined. The ash content decreased 9% and crude protein increased by 2.7% when the cover soil (peat) was removed from the bedding residue. In vitro degradability of dry matter at 72 hours was 8.4%. The peat-free bedding residue had 12.7, 29.1, 26.1, and 39.6% CP, NDF, ADF, and ash, respectively. This material contains most of the minerals required by cattle. A 76% of the nitrogen fraction is insoluble in borate-phosphate buffer, and 83% of the total nitrogen is of proteic nature. No detectable restrictive levels of mycotoxins were found. The ruminal DM effective degradation (DE) of the peat-free residue was 39.6%. This is 68% higher than the residue with peat for the time and accumulated gas at the inflection point and at the maximum gas production rate. The high content of sulfur (2.1%) in the peat-free residue might limit its dietary inclusion for cattle to a maximum of 14%.
