ABSTRACT Bhabani Bhattacharya’s “SO MANY HUNGERS!” from the Human Rights point of view (in TRIVEINI, Vol. 74 (4), Oct – Dec, 2005 looks at the 1947 novel of the historical-vision-based writer whose Gandhian thought made him look at colonial oppression and exploitation from the vantage point of how a colony on getting freed would have to tackle so many of its pressing problems including those of food,education and security.
