ABSTRACT Vitamin B12 deficiency causes haematological, gastrointestinal and neurological diseases. Subacute combined degeneration (SCD) of the spinal cord is characterised by degeneration of the posterior and lateral columns. We report a case of SCD associated with nitrous oxide anaesthesia.
