KECERNAAN BAHAN KERING BEBERAPA JENIS PAKAN PADA TERNAK SAPI BALI JANTAN YANG DIPELIHARA DENGAN SISTEM FEEDLOT

ABSTRACT Forages, such as gramineae, leguminose, and crop residue are the common feed of Bali cattle. Since the species of forages vary greatly, its nutrient composition is also different which in turn make a difference in its nutrient digestibility. Therefore, on this study, dry matter digestibility of different feeds on Bali Cattle kept in feed lot feeding system was studied. Random Block design was applied in this experiment with 4 treatments and 6 blocks. The treatment consist of forages, ad libitum (R 1), 1% Gliricidia + forages ad libitum (R 2), Gliricidia ad libitum (R 3), 1% rice bran + Gliricidia ad libitum (R 4), while block was designed based on life weigh differences. Analysis of varians was used to analyze the effect of treatments on experimental unit and Least Significant Difference was applied to evaluate the differences between treatments. Data collection conducted in two periods. The result of variance analysis in period-1 showed that the treatment has significantly effect (P<0.01) on digestibility of dry matter of Bali cattle feed. Dry matter digestibility of R 4 (45.880%) was the highest which significantly different (P<0.01) from R 1 (28.662%), R 2 (36.441%) and R 3 (37.282). In period-2, the treatments also had significantly effect (P<0.01) on dry matter digestibility of the feeds but the highest dry matter digestibility was occurred in R 1 (39.985%) instead of R4 in period-1 which significantly different (P<0.01) from R 3 (25.992%) but not for R 2 (34.196%) and R 4 (36.186%). Based on the results, it was concluded that dry matter digestibility of Gliricidia either in combination with rice bran or forages was the good treatment concerning to the digestibility value but it is only occurred in the short period. In the long period, digestibility of Gliricidia was decreased.
