ABSTRACT 1.
The reaction of 2-(-bromoalkylthio)-4,6-dimethylpyrimidines with several nucleophilic reagents was studied under various conditions.

Cyclic sulfonium or ammonium salts play a significant role in these transformations in the case of four methylene groups in the bromoalkyl group. The participation of these salts was supported by finding the products of their subsequent conversions.
