ABSTRACT We describe a simple and fast method to probe the morphological changes on the exterior and interior of a malaria infected erythrocyte at different stages of parasite development. This involves the imaging and scanning of Giemsa stained malaria infected erythrocytes using optical microscopy and atomic force microscopy, respectively.
