ABSTRACT Research aimed at knowing exactly symptom and causal agent of ginger rhizome rot, disease intensity, and environmental factors in the field. The research was carried out by survey method at Magelang regency and in the Laboratory of Plant Diseases, the Faculty of Agriculture, Unsoed. Sampling method used was Purposive Random Sampling The samples were identified and tested with Koch’ postulate, and variables observed were description of the symptom, the causal agent, disease intensity, disease severity, and environmental factors. Result research pointed out that the rhizome rot was exactly caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. zingiberi and other pathogens such as F. moniliforme and Rhizoctonia solani were found The disease symptoms were yellowing of the lower leaves, from the top and side of the leaves, wilting, and finally died, The disease intensity at Magelang regency was 20% and classified as moderate. The disease severity at ginger rhizome was 20%. Factors influencing the disease development were pH, humidity, temperature, solar light intensity, and other crops surrounding ginger plantation
