ABSTRACT The authors review the state of the art regarding vitamin E in relation to its use during childhood. The report comments on a number of aspects which are still not entirely clear and stresses the prophylactic and therapeutic importance of antioxidants, even in pediatrics, and the severe damage that may result from free radicals even during this period of life.
