ABSTRACT Lepidium meyenii (Maca) is traditionally employed in the Andean region for its supposed properties in improving fertility. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of subacute oral administration of hexanic, methanolic and chloroformic extracts of Maca root on sexual performance in inexperienced male rats. The following sexual performance parameters were evaluated: 1st mount, 1st intromission, ejaculation and post-ejaculatory latencies, intercopulatory interval and copulatory efficacy. All the tested fractions significantly decreased intromission latency and intercopulatory interval and increased intromission frequency and copulatory efficacy (P < 0.05) as compared to controls. Hexanic and methanolic extracts were able to increase mount frequency (MF), while only hexanic fraction significantly improved mount latency (ML) (P=0.038). Globally, only the hexanic fraction significantly improved the majority of the sexual parameters measured. Sub-acute oral administration of hexanic Maca extract improved sexual performance parameters in sexually inexperienced male rats most effectively.

ABSTRACT: There is more and more scientific evidence about the Maca (Lepidium meyenil Walp, Lepidium peruvianum Chacón) due to the high interest that it arose in the sanitary sector of the sexual medicine given to its im- portant actions and applications in ginecology and uro-andrology. The Maca (Lepedium meyenii Walp., Lepidium peruvianum Chacón) na- tive plant from the Peruvian Andes, has been used traditionally as food due to its excellent energizing and nutritive qualities and its beneficial properties on the lack of desire and fertility.

ABSTRACT: form only given. A resonate enhancement of the conductance by the magnetic field has been observed. The magneto conductance shows pronounced oscillations, which can be correlated with the number of periods and the derivatives with the magnetic, field strength. The coupling of states in periodic structure leads to the formation of bands in Ti(IV) group polymer. (BIS (DITHIZONATE) Ti(IV) isopropanalate [HD/sub z/)/sub 2/Ti(OP)/sub 2/] even in the liquid solution with some organic solvents. The creation of miniband due to the coupling of states among adjacent quantum wells, miniband conduction in superlattices and its magnetodynamic control have been explained. Periodicity seems to be produced during the growth process by alternation between different semiconductors. The one gate terminated in periodic fingers is caused when split gate-like structures on high modulation doped heterostructure on the polymers. The depletion of electrical-carriers beneth the gates along with the width of the conducting channel and the strength of the periodic modulation variation by biasing the two gates independent under magnetodynamical stimulation have been proposed. The observations are not only useful in explaining so called the vertical superlattice, but also the lateral superlattices, when a periodicity is produced by a electrostatic potential superimposed on a two-or one dimensional electrical carrier (electron, hole, exciton, ion).
