MA in Linguistics

I have been active in the Linguistics section at the University of Cape Town as tutor, research assistant and part-time lecturer since 2007. I am currently writing up my PhD thesis, which is a study about the indexicality of Afrikaans rhotic variation and place attachment.
My research interests (ad hoc) are: variationist sociolinguistics and linguistic anthropology; acoustic and articulatory phonetics; morpho-syntactic variation and change; and research methodologies.
