Indeed, there is no universal classifier that means for different data sets some classifiers may give better results than SVM. But in general SVM is one the strongest classifiers among others provided that is well tuned.Note that Naive Base and other probabilistic Graphical Models are so popular and I think they will be even more popular than SVM. [more]Hi, I agree with Juann-Esteban. when you are faced with big data it takes a long time to train the networks, so it would be better to implement the code with C or C++ . if you want to easily implement your code, Python, Matlab or Octave are good choices. Note that Python and Matlab can perform codes faster if they are written based on Linear Algebra. Good luck.Following

Article: Fuzzy Lattice Reasoning for Pattern Classification Using a New Positive Valuation Function
Yazdan Jamshidi Khezeli, Hossein Nezamabadi-Pour[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: This paper describes an enhancement of fuzzy lattice reasoning (FLR) classifier for pattern classification based on a positive valuation function. Fuzzy lattice reasoning (FLR) was described lately as a lattice data domain extension of fuzzy ARTMAP neural classifier based on a lattice inclusion measure function. In this work, we improve the performance of FLR classifier by defining a new nonlinear positive valuation function. As a consequence, the modified algorithm achieves better classification results. The effectiveness of the modified FLR is demonstrated by examples on several well-known pattern recognition benchmarks.Advances in Fuzzy Systems 04/2012; 8.
