A search for compounds formed with spinons is a challenge for the condensed matter physics. Recently the herbertsmithite provided striking experimental evidence for spin liquid realization [T.-H. Han et al., Nature 492, 406 (2012)]. General quantitative theory that has predicted flat bands and describes herbertsmithite is presented in Ref. [V. R. Shaginyan, A.Z. Msezane, K. G. Popov, G. S. Japaridze, V. A. Stephanovich, EPL 97,56001(2012)].
