Our Cognitive Neuronal Systems Unit of the Schizophrenia Research Laboratory uses fMRI, cognitive testing, and genetic analyses to identify neural and molecular mechanisms underlying schizophrenia. We also use functional genetic polymorphisms and potential biomarkers to guide our research using brain stimulation (rTMS and tDCS) and the novel application of existing medications as adjunctive therapy to antipsychotic treatment to reverse cognitive deficits and reduce symptoms in schizophrenia.
