We indeed did the study with separate populations and drew conclusions for each group separately. When we took our message out into the community people were very interested in the blind population but not the deaf population. According to teachers of deaf and blind students, pre-lingual deaf people face the hardest challenges in obtaining a structured education due to there poverty of communication skills. Problems faced by deaf and blind population has drastically affected health care sector as well. I have done a descriptive cross sectional study on limitations to the effective use of medication among the deaf and the blind and their self implemented coping strategies. The results really have been an eye opener. From knowledge on disease to how health care professional perceive them during their routine practice the scope of the problem is staggering. As a result of this study we have published a book on common drug advice and health education in Braille and it has been received by the target community with extreme enthusiasm. I think there is potential for revolutionary change in health care policy with regards to caring for these vulnerable people.Following
