About

My work focuses on the design of materials for medical applications, specifically bone reconstruction/orthopaedics. My current work is focused on phenomena observed in-vivo where common metal alloys exhibit responses not predicted, e.g. anelastic strain recovery of spine rods, and unique failure mechanisms in the clinical environment. Additionally, I am developing dynamic synthesis processes for porous materials (calcium phosphate, NiTi) to be used in orthopaedics.
