About

My main research interest is in self-regulation. In particular, my colleagues and I have examined how often people fail to translate their intentions into action, and have analysed the types of self-regulatory problems (e.g., failures to initiate action or to shield goal striving from unwanted influences) that give rise to the intention-behaviour "gap." We also investigate whether forming if-then plans or implementation intentions (Gollwitzer, 1993) can help people to reach their goals.
