About

Fenugreek seeds were enriched by soaking them in Cr(3) picolinate solution for 24hr under controlled temperature and humidity. Then the Cr(3) fenugreek seeds was analysed quantitatively for alkaloids, saponins and Cr(3).The quantification of alkaloids and saponins was done using solvents.Methanol:water(70:30 by volume) gave the max yield of alakloids. The quantity of alkaloids and saponins present in the Cr(3) enriched fenugreek seeds remained the same as in the control(normal fenugreek seeds).
