I am intrigued by the diversity of movements that animals use when feeding, and when locomoting to avoid being fed upon. Some of my studies of muscle physiology and biomechanics reveal how muscle-tendon interactions influence animal locomotion. In other studies, I transfer locomotor muscle physiology and biomechanics principles to reveal how jaw and hyoid movements during feeding are integrated and have evolved across the animal kingdom.
