My research focuses on understanding why people engage in risky, impulsive, and self-destructive behavior, with a special emphasis on elucidating how trauma exposure and posttraumatic stress confer risk for these harmful behaviors. I am interested in understanding the pathophysiology of PTSD, suicide-related behaviors, violence perpetration, and personality disorders associated with chronic dysregulation & criminal behavior.
