  Stefan, I'm glad that your mind is working on this subject! You see, this principle may be modified and upgraded by many different ways, according different minds. Most important is the conception, that must go on. Personally I think that the use of an well designed hooks wheel is the best solution at the moment, since the risks of friction losses are very low.   My view is that pull work will be not exactly real specially facing atmospheric pressure. Pushing, or positive pressure, is much more near to combustion piston behavior. The behavior of air in negative system is completely different from +'s.
