About
With a doctorate in Educational Technology, I am an assiduous and devoted instructional/educational technology consultant and trainer that have built a reputation for excellence based upon my knowledge and application of pedagogy and andragogy, sound instructional design, usage of emerging technology tools (including Web 2.0) and working multimedia tools in both teaching, learning and training.
As an Instructional Technology Consultant in the Faculty Technology Center, I support the mission of the Information Technology Services department by providing support to faculty, adjuncts and graduate teaching assistants who want to construct instructional materials and resources that are effective, efficient and appealing so that it enhances the overall learning experience of Louisiana State University (LSU) students. Those services include, but not limited to, assisting faculty in redesigning courses for face-to-face; online and hybrid learning; working with faculty to create accessible learning materials for both print and web; consulting, training, designing, demonstrating and developing engaging learning environments using Moodle effectively, using web conferencing applications - Adobe Connect and teaching in smart classrooms.
Prior to my position at LSU, I worked at the City of Houston as a Senior Trainer. In this capacity, I served on the implementation team, tasked to consolidate systems and data, in order to fulfill the City's desire to have a single system for training records and content. In the capacity, I had to effectively communicate ideas and solutions with team members, senior management, and business stakeholders. In addition to my Project Management work, I functioned as the in-house, database administrator and ensured that the implementation associated with analyzing, managing, maintaining, creating standards for, documenting and controlling databases were created, designed and executed. Including the aforementioned, I have worked as the Lead IT Consultant, Instructional Technology Coordinator, Assistant Professor, Instructional Designer and Technology Instruction Specialist.
My diverse experience can serve as a platform in this department and be used as a catalyst to support the mission of Information Technology Services through identifying new consulting opportunities and increased specialization in digital video, web services, cloud computing, social media technology, web technology and course management system support.
