My interests span the fields of macroecology, community ecology, conservation biology and behavioral ecology, particularly in the tropics. I worked with Andrew J. Marshall in the the Graduate Group in Ecology and the Department of Anthropology at the University of California-Davis for my PhD, which identified determinants of tropical vertebrate community composition across spatial scales. I have participated in field research and field courses in Central America, East Africa and South East Asia.
