  Hi,Mircea, thanks for your comments. I agree with you that two MCU may be not a good solution. MCU+FPGA/FPGA is better and possibly any algorithm or control method may be realized on it. However, MCU+ASIC may be difficult for us due to the cost reason. If we use MCU+FPGA/CPLD, then how can we communicate data between MCU and FPGA/CPLD, especially if the MCU has not provide a data bus or address bus on the I/O interface, only series communication channels are available, such as SPI, RS232, SCI, etc. Then a proper communication method may need to be choosed for data exchange between MCU and CPLD. One of my questions is that multiple interrupts are allowed in a MCU program? Multiple interrupts will increase the risk of program operation reliability?

  For a servo drive, what is the optimal hardware organization, using two MCU or one MCU+one CPLD/FPGA? The cost and the performance must be considered at the same time. Can anyone please give me some suggestions or share something about this?
