About

Our research program focuses on the ways in which HIV evades the host immune response. To maintain a chronic infection HIV must evade intrinsic antiviral responses, lysis by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), and lysis by natural killer (NK) cells. Our goal is to better understand viral mechanisms of immune evasion so that we might develop ways to inhibit these processes and provide better therapies for HIV-infected people.
