Jonathan Mark Wilson

Physiology, Molecular Biology, Marine Biology

I have been an investigator in the Ecophysiology laboratory of CIMAR in Porto, Portugal since 2003. I have been pursuing a line of research in fish physiology focused primarily on elucidating the mechanisms of ion and nitrogen regulation. However, my research has expanded into understanding the effects of hydrostatic pressure on fish physiology and the story of stomach loss in vertebrates. I have been supported by external grants from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
