We just landed on the ground of the main problem: logic All wishes to create a “Golem” were connected to a kind of “Machine” able to act on the basic of logical terms and rulles. The last modern version was and is the “Turing machine” as Louis rightfully mentioned. A kind of Robot that can dissolve all mathematical physical problems, behavior as an algorithmic processor. This all happens on the level of our classic logic. Now, Kurt Goedel, as the one of the most significant logicians in human history, proved us that the formal logical foundations of science and mathematics become doubtful ! A radical developments have taken place within Science during the last decades, and have made us suspect that certain fundamental philosophical concepts and presuppositions on which all our scientific efforts are (more or less unconsciously) based , are in dire need of a thorough reexamination. Moreover, there is a special reason why the ontologist is interested in this situation. Formal logic, which has so often served as the arbiter in scientific controversies, is at present unable to help: its explosive expansion since about the middle of the last century has made the security of its own foundations dubious. Today it is still impossible to evaluate the effects which such discoveries as those that have come to us from Kurt Gödel and others will have on the future development of all our disciplines. The ontological basis of logic itself is in question. When the formal logical foundations of science and mathematics become doubtful, the issue automatically reverts back to the ontological sector of philosophy. Scientists themselves have invaded ontology. W.Heisenberg did so with a very valuable essay “Kausalgesetz und Quantenmechanik”. E. Schrödinger gave in his Tarner Lectures a very competent exposition of the ontological relations between consciousness and world. One main consequence of this new situation is that now days representatives of the physical sciences express viewpoints which are de facto statements from a new ontology. A new concept of logic is consequently called for. But such a new concept can only be developed in contrast to our classic tradition and theory of thought. I think that Turing was the last attempt to hold the bursting central pillars of classical science and classical logic. The science world is standing between wreckage, looking with fear at quantum physics phenomena behavior, at the strange behavior of particles – a logical impossibility in classical logical terms, as they can be both here and there.....Following

First... [more]Mind, Knowledge, Intelligence, are terms that sometimes seams to produce more confusion than to illuminate what happens in process of thinking. First of all I do not like the term smart because it has no scientific meaning at all. Intelligence is a very “wide” term. Deriving from Latin verb “intelligere” it means something like discern. From here we can start a logical philosophical dispute what it means. I think that all philosophers since ancient time worked hard enough on this field and still we have no complete unequivocally answer. Generally we are dealing with “Human Intelligence” as a human ability on many levels and in many fields of life and science to solve problems , ask new questions and find new ways of thinking..... But the last remaining question is always about human intelligence and brain function. Cybernetics talks about Brain as a “Black Box”. Most scientists ar trying to crack it in a detour way – from input to output. Put information into the box mix it inside in the kitchen of neurons to knowledge and in the output you got intelligence (or 0). I will wink and whisper, well there is a small problem left – the “Schrödinger cat ” . What if our brain is functioning totally different as our intellect wants to assure us (on the basic of our rational classic logical system) ? If we cannot define how our mass of neurons produces mind, how can we ever defined intelligence of an human being? Well we landed another time at the Greeks. This way is a “Circulus vitiosi”. Instead I would like to discuss about cognition and volition, two functionally brain attributes that occurs simultaneously at the moment of consciousness. Once and for all, it has nothing to do with input-output, with classical Systemtheory or any other classical logic algorithmic processes. Because of that, it makes no sense to discuss the question of “artificial Intellect” or any kind of “intellectual” performance of a Robot. There is the story about the “Golem”, but if you want such a robot, you have to deal with rabbi and god. I would not rate you to deal with them (-:Following

Some "searchers" are not shame to proclaim great successes in AI research l such as : "HUMANOID ROBOT IN DEVELOPMENT THAT ACTS LIKE ONE YEAR OLD" (David J. Hill at the Singularity University) . You can continue sleeping well. In your Facebook site you are quoting Dr. Hugo de Garis. He is a good actor on the field of AI, but his “horror picture show” reminds me at old good days in cinema throwing rice... I am toughen to respect many of those AI prophets, because I see that all that comes out is personally profit and spending a lot of money on declaring things that let us us hope or fear that something big comes upon us with super AI. It is not serious scientific research! Let me explain what I mean, bringing some “Non Scientific Sense” sentences from de Garis: Moor Low (history. Kurzweil agrees that by 2019 the current strategy of ever-finer photolithography will have run its course- Wikipedia) has nothing to do with intelligence neither with IA Home Robot 2020 (serving your tea, wen you comes home Industry autonom intelligent Robot (Mr. enterpriser) Robot IQ = human IQ Neurons = transistors War between USA and China (who has the better AI-soldiers) New AI race named Artilect (Ph.D in one minute) Singularity, Robots, smarter than human being, will take command over our destiny (doomsday) There are other more sophisticated actor on the AI stage. Vilayanur Subramanian Ramachandran is one of them. Known as a neuroscientist with his work in the fields of behavioral neurology, he is presenting us a lot of fascinating examples of neurological phenomena resulting from neurons activities and connections. This will help us to deal with many kinds of brain diseases, but it doesn't bring us even a step towards something like self-awareness of robots. All I can see now is AI science scratching the surface of human scalp. Beyond this there is a scientific dispute about humanity, logic and the role of human consciousness and self-awareness, a dispute at least 2000 years old and stile young in his development. Roger Penrose is one of few scientists who tried to discuss the question of our brain function on a fundamental level of our existence. He argue against the viewpoint that conscious events of the mind can be simulated algorithmically, to say on machines or robots. His most important argument is that consciousness transcends formal logic. With this statement he Removes the Foundation under the feet of all the AI Prophets. To understand our brain function producing conscious events we must indeed generate an adequate logic and logical framework. It is a logic of brain structure and functions that we we will be in near future able to describe but not to “think”, because it is beyond our rational way of thinking (2 value logic). These will lead us to define physical processes, neuronal activities and connections in our brain. Maybe than and only than we can reach a higher level of AI with some attributes of self-organization and self-learning – but really only a few!Following

Article: Quantum Brain Research
Ilan Dr. Kreitmann[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Quantum Brain Research are crossing nowadays the bridge between classic and quantum physics. This bridge has 2 different meanings. If we are crossing the bridge on quantum level, we will come to Alice wonderland, where things are extremely lunatic. We are standing on the other side used to deal with classic philosophy, logic and physics as our routine tool box. This tools doesn't fit anymore!02/2013; -

ABSTRACT: The basic conceptual foundation with which a logic meets reality is established as far as two-value theories are concerned. Any datum of experience is either positive or negative, objective or subjective and no third term is allowed. (tertium non datur) But with regard to many values we have not even started to lay the proper foundation. Today scientists beginning to internalize discoveries like Kurt Gödel's incompleteness theorems. Since then the ontological basis of logic itself is in question. The new ontological situation was then sharply delineated in statements of Heisenberg "kausalgesetz und Quantenmechanik" 1931 and Schroedinger’s "Mind and Matter" 1959. If Heisenberg's statement about the mathematical inseparability of subject and object in a quantum-mechanics description of the physical world is correct, then it becomes impossible to subscribe further to our traditional ontology and it formal logic. Philosophically seen, as long there is no factor of distribution in classic physics, two and only two different values describe one single object. but as soon as two things happen simultaneously like the concept of waves-particle duality, separation in only one exclusive duality became impossible. Now there are two complementary concepts and the logic that applied uses its two values in a distributed way! With the Multi-net-logic, the description of qbits as morphogrammatic pattern on the level of possibilities in pre-conscious quantum spacetime, is a new theory of quantum computing given, in an entirely different sense compared with theories of classical physics and computing science. All linearity and value restrictions are annulled. There is no algorithm but furthermore parallel processing of reflections operators and transjunctional gaps for transformation of quantum information in and between neurons that produces series of conscious events.06/2012; Apple Book Store. -
