ABSTRACT: Gloriosa superba is a medicinal plant. Its tubers contain valuable, alkaloids viz., colchicines and colchicoside as the major constituents, which are used to treated in many diseases. Gloriosa superba were Evaluated for total sugar, protein, lipid and primarly metabolits, phosphorous, calcium, and vitamins ascorbic acid. The result showed high ratio of present in bio chemicals protein, phosphorus. The methanolic acetone, petroleum ether and aqueous extracts of the root tubers of Gloriosa superba were studied for antimicrobial activity result showed the methanolic extract were highly active against the gram-negative bacteria, Escherchiacoli. The tubers anti microbial activity ames E . coli test due to the presence of alkaloids
