But I suppose it is similar to other... [more]Sudipta, I cannot say too much about the particular situation in India (although I hope I can visit it one day!). But I suppose it is similar to other countries, which means it is not necessary to have a PhD to work in a ministry. Every country is different. I was born in Germany where IR professionals can be found in think tanks as well as NGOs or government agencies. The same goes out to other West-European countries. Right now I live in Brazil where people with the same education are mostly working for government agencies and less for NGOs and hardly anyone for think tanks (just because their number is very limited). A good idea is to find out what people from your area of studies are doing who entered the job market in the past few years. And then please let us know!Following
